Information about wills living trust online

Making a will is something that, because of the reason why we need to do it, is something that is easily put off - yet can lead to huge problems with probate if you don't write one in time.

Writing a last will and testament (to use the proper phrase for it) isn't as complicated as it used to be, and there are now many places online why you can write a legal DIY one!

Title : The Law of Trusts and Equitable Obligations
Author : Robert A. Pearce
Rating : 2 Stars out of 5.
Summary : A textbook you would hate to be using

This textbook is very little value for money. It is the sort of book you would at best avoid to read. It really does not break the subject down in any logical manner and adds confusion with its obscure diagramms occasionally attempting to explain concepts to the reader. The only worthwile bit of the text book is the introductory part outlining the history of equitable jurisprudence. But quite frankly, for everyhing else you would be well advised to use another book. Its extremely small print and typo problems are additional factors you might want to bear in mind before buying this book.

Title : How to Settle an Estate: A Manual for Executors and Trustees
Author : Charles K. Plotnick
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : I'm buying it for my clients!

The best basic "how-to" guide I've seen for executors and administrators. Not "do-it-yourself" tear-out forms, just good, practical, up-to-date (in '98) advice. I'm sending complimentary copies to my executor and trustee clients (via Amazon.com, natch!)

Title : Principles of Equity and the Law of Trusts (Principles of Law S.)
Author : Alastair Hudson
Rating : 1 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Quantity not quality

This book is extremely poorly written and should only be read after you feel confident enough with your knowledge of the subject to be able to see all its innaccuracies, if at all. Reading this book provides a risk of wrongfully doubting your understanding of the subject. The major problems are that Hudson equates terms that mean different things (e.g. by beginning a paragraph saying a rule relates to beneficiaries but then using the term potential beneficiaries in its place without clearly stating that the rule applies to them as well) and an serious lack of structure that would especially confuse if this was the first book you read on the subject. Resist the temptation to buy the thickest and newest book and buy a quality book instead e.g. Hanbury and Martin's Modern Equity.

Title : Where There's a Will...: A Guide for the Executor or Administrator of the Estate of a Decendent
Author : F. William, Jr. Bauers
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : An excellent resource if you are named executor of a will.

This book is an excellent guide to have if you are named executor of an estate. It takes a common-sense approach to the tasks of being an executor--getting court approval, finding all the necessary documents, dividing up the estate according to the will, and tying up all the loose ends. Bauers knows his topic: he's been executor for seven different wills.

The book starts with a chapter about a most unusual estate Bauers was involved in settling, featuring international intrigue and possible foul play. Then comes a chapter describing the basic responsibilities of an executor. The meat of the book begins with Chapter 3, which contains a list of 26 "duties"--just about every task an executor might have to do. These are spelled out in detail in the remaining 17 chapters. There's an absolute minimum of legalese. The book includes copies of some of the many forms you may encounter and sample letters and worksheets you can use as an executor.

Title : The Self-help Guide to Making Your Will
Author : Gordon Bowley
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : An excellent guide to Making Your Will

I recently bought this book and have found it extremly helpful. It is crammed with information and useful advice and has easy to follow specimen wills and forms. It is full of surprising facts and has a large section on inheritence tax saving. Very good value. The compehensive index makes it easy to use. Deserves a place on every family's bookshelf.Thoroughly rcommended!

Title : Where There's a Will...: A Guide for the Executor or Administrator of the Estate of a Decendent
Author : F. William, Jr. Bauers
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : This book is an excellent resource and easy to use.

Although I have not yet been the executor of an estate, someday I will be required to perform the duties of one. I plan to use this book as my guide. When my husband and I set up our estate, Where There's a Will...provided useful information for the direction of our own executor. Painful as it can be we need to be prepared to carry out their final wishes. A resource like this will provide answers to confusing questions during what can be an overwhelming time of life.
