guide to making a will

Information about guide to making a will online

Making a will is something that, because of the reason why we need to do it, is something that is easily put off - yet can lead to huge problems with probate if you don't write one in time.

Writing a last will and testament (to use the proper phrase for it) isn't as complicated as it used to be, and there are now many places online why you can write a legal DIY one!

Title : Trusts and Equity (PLTS)
Author : Richard Edwards
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Straightforward and easy to read

This is one of best textbooks on trusts and equity that I have found. Designed specifically for postgradute and first time law students, it is accessible and uncomplicated. The case law it includes is relevant and very up to date. Perhaps a little too uncritical with regards to cases, and any serious student will need to supplement it with casebooks and further reading, but it is an excellent book for anybody struggling to get to grips with trusts. It gives a good, basic background on any equity topic. If only all law textbooks were as readable as this!

Title : Trusts (Nutshell S.)
Author : Angela Sydenham
Rating : 3 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Good, but needs updating due to the Third Party Rights Act

The Nutshell books are good revision aids, but it is not helpful when they do not keep up with the current position regarding the law.

The introduction of the Third Party Contract Rights Act has fundamental implications on this area of law. If it is being taught and examined upon, then the publisher needs to update this book.

Title : Principles of Equity and the Law of Trusts (Principles of Law S.)
Author : Alastair Hudson
Rating : 3 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Thorough but a little careless

You certainly except a book of this size to offer a very thorough account of the subject matter. Andrew Hudson does not dissappoint in this respect, His clear knowledge and clarity are a breath of fresh air for this student who tends to find that most law books are written by reseasrchers eager to impress their friends but not to help the student. Cavendish, the publishers are the exception to this trend, and despite being unfashionable as a result are certainly gasining popularity with the undergraduate market.
Perhaps the only downside to this book, is the carelessness of teh editing. The subject matter is difficult enough without having to secong guess the writer.
The book is certainly overpriced, but the difficulty in finding readable textbooks means this must be overlooked. Go and Buy it.

Title : Trusts and Equity (Foundation Studies in Law S.)
Author : Richard Edwards
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Straightforward and easy to read

This is one of best textbooks on trusts and equity that I have found. Designed specifically for postgradute and first time law students, it is accessible and uncomplicated. Perhaps a little too uncritical with regards to cases, and any serious student will need to supplement it with casebooks and further reading, but it is an excellent book for anybody struggling to get to grips with trusts. It gives a good, basic background on any equity topic. If only all law textbooks were as readable as this!

Title : Trusts Law: Text and Materials (Law in Context S.)
Author : Graham Moffat
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Moffat Equity and Trusts

This book is extremely accessible and makes an extremely hard topic in law a great deal easier to understand. The writer avoids fancy words, which can often be confusing, and sticks to the relevant information which results in commendable clarity.

This book was a great help to me during the second year of my law degree and I would recommend it to any undergraduate.

Title : How to Settle an Estate: A Manual for Executors and Trustees (How to Settle an Estate)
Author : Charles Plotnick
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : I'm buying it for my clients!

The best basic "how-to" guide I've seen for executors and administrators. Not "do-it-yourself" tear-out forms, just good, practical, up-to-date (in '98) advice. I'm sending complimentary copies to my executor and trustee clients (via Amazon.com, natch!)
